Los Cabos has three resort areas

Los Cabos is the name for the tip of the Baja California peninsula. Most visitors stay in one of three places: the town of Cabo San Lucas, the town of San José del Cabo, or the Tourist Corridor, the stretch of coast that joins them.

Cabo San Lucas is the busy end

Cabo San Lucas has the marina, the boat trips to the Arch and most of the nightlife. Médano Beach runs along its bay and is the best known beach in the area for swimming. Resorts here suit travellers who want to walk into town in the evening.

The Corridor has the big resorts

The Corridor runs for roughly 30 kilometres between the two towns. It holds many of the larger all-inclusive resorts and the golf courses. Some beaches along it are calm enough to swim, many are not, so check the beach of each resort.

San José del Cabo is the quiet end

San José del Cabo has a historic centre, an art district and a slower pace. It is the closest area to Los Cabos International Airport. Resorts here suit couples and families who want a calmer stay.

Pick the area first, then the resort

Decide how close to town you want to be and whether swimming in the sea matters. That choice narrows the list of resorts before you compare prices.
